Season Outlook for Woman's Basketball

Coach Gaines is in his first year as Head Women's Basketball Coach at Clark State Community College. These ladies have bought into the system and working hard together, we are excited about the upcoming 2016-2017 year. We have two players returning from last year's team; DeKayla Hunter (5'7'' Guard/Forward) from Wayne High School and Chelsea Daniels (5'6'' Guard) from Pointz CTC.

I appreciate their leadership coming in and their commitment to Clark State Community College's Women's Basketball Team. I have seven (7) newcomers coming in this year. JaNai Mitchell, Dasia Howard, Tashawna Davenport, Danyah Barnes, Marlena Channels, Brianna Bryant and Brittany Bryant. All of them bring a different skill to the game.

We are athletic at the guard position, our forwards have a nice touch. I believe, this year is going to be a great building block and stepping stone to something special here at Clark State Community College. I know if we continue to bond, work and play together we can turn the corner here. We will push the ball when the opportunity presents itself and run our offense to try to get good shots.
